Invesco Consumer Discretionary S&P US Select Sector UCITS ETF (XLYS.L)

Qué hace este fondo

This Invesco ETF, specifically the Acc share class for the S&P US Select Sector UCITS, aims to mirror the net total returns of its benchmark, the S&P Select Sector Capped 20% Consumer Discretionary Index, after accounting for its operational costs. This underlying index focuses on companies within the consumer discretionary segment of the broader S&P 500. Its components are weighted based on their free-float market capitalization, with a restriction that no single holding can exceed 19%; any weight beyond this limit is redistributed among the other uncapped securities. To achieve its investment objective, the fund typically holds a diversified portfolio of equities. While these holdings are generally responsible for the majority of the fund's returns, they are usually not an exact match for the constituents of the benchmark index. To bridge this potential performance gap, the ETF also employs unfunded swap agreements. These are financial contracts with approved third-party institutions, where the fund and the counterparty exchange the difference in returns between the benchmark index and the fund's actual equity basket. This sophisticated strategy is designed to ensure a tighter and more consistent tracking of the benchmark's performance than could be achieved through holding physical assets alone. Crucially, while the fund's stated goal is to mirror the standard net total return index, the swap agreements reference a version of the index that incorporates enhanced withholding tax benefits. Consequently, the fund's performance before fees is anticipated to surpass the returns of the conventional net return index. This ETF operates under a passive management approach. Investing in this fund means acquiring units in a passively managed, index-tracking vehicle, rather than directly owning the underlying securities that the fund holds.
