It specifically targets innovative, pure-play companies deeply involved in defense-related operations. The fund strategically allocates its capital across three core domains: 1. Defense equipment: encompassing advanced robotics, uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), military transport, space technologies, sophisticated sensor and communication networks, and state-of-the-art armaments. 2. Defense technology: covering areas like artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), big data analysis, geospatial intelligence, and security screening solutions. 3. Cybersecurity firms: focused on safeguarding critical infrastructure. GDFN typically holds between 15 and 100 companies located outside of the United States and Canada, with a maximum of 25% of its assets potentially invested in emerging market economies. Its security selection methodology combines a macro-level sector evaluation with a micro-level assessment of company fundamentals and valuations. The objective is to identify attractively priced businesses exhibiting robust potential for expansion. It does not implement currency hedging strategies and reserves the option to engage in securities lending.
